Yesterday, was the opening of Heatcote Pub one of few in the chain of Star Pubs. The place got filled with people so quickly, thank God we managed to get some photos. The place looks amazing in real after seeing it only on papers, with so much space to play, party and garden. Definitely, this is the pub you would want to go in summer, with huge outdoor space and grill area its perfect to have a pint and soak in the sun. Three designated pub areas will definitely meet anyone needs on every day of the week.

PATATAJ is a self-taught Polish artist. Born in Białystok, Poland, she moved to England at the age of twelve and has lived in London ever since.

She studied Industrial Design and Technology at the Brunel University, and one sunny afternoon in 2012, whilst trying to avoid handing in her Mechanics assignment, she picked up a fineliner and it has remained her tool of choice to this day. In her last years of study she continually spent more time drawing and stippling than studying, which was worth it as she later exhibited one of her early works in Park Theatre, London, in 2015 few months before graduating, which set her mind on pursuing the arts post graduation. After building up a portfolio of work she begun exhibiting frequently in 2016, some of her pieces took up to 400 hours to create. Her style combines fine art and illustration, her characteristic portraits created out of clean lines and stippling.

She creates portraits that concentrate on experiences, feelings and situations.

BTW: She’s exhibiting tonight in TATE Britain so, run!

Progress on Dar Jasmine

Dar Jasmine in Chefchaouen, Morocco – the boutique hotel we have a pleasure to design is slowly getting into its final construction stage, here are some photos from our latest visit to it. Check them out!

Dar Rhizlane – Marrakech

Occupying an ornate art deco mansion in the Hivernage district, this luxe hotel amid lush gardens is 2 km from the city’s largest mosque, Koutoubia, and 3 km from the 11th-century buildings of the medina.

Chic, minimalist rooms all have private gardens or balconies, plus fireplaces. Suites add living rooms, with some offering ornate design details and extra bedrooms.

The hotel features an upscale restaurant, an outdoor pool set in a garden and a stylish day spa.

Majorelle Garden & YSL House

The Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech is one of the most visited sites in Morocco. It took French painter Jacques Majorelle (1886-1962) forty years of passion and dedication to create this enchanting garden in the heart of the “Ochre City”.

We amble along shady lanes, in the midst of trees and exotic plants of dreamy origin; we walk past refreshing, burbling streams and pools filled with water lilies and lotus flowers; we hear wafting through the air, laden with sugared fragrance, the rustling of leaves and the chirping of numerous birds who come here to take refuge; we stop, and the path turns unexpectedly, revealing a building with Moorish charm, with a hint of Art Deco, painted in astonishingly vibrant primary colours, glowing with an intense blue the artist perceived in the Atlas Mountains. We are soothed and enchanted by the harmony of this luxuriant and vivid imagery, which issues a delicate summons to the senses, offering us a calming retreat near, and yet so far from the bustling city, sheltered from time by high earthen walls.

Surf Maroc – Taghazout/Amouage

Surf Maroc was founded by Ben and Ollie in 2003 with 5 boards, a few old wetsuits, and even older Transit van.

With no grand scheme or master plan, they have grown organically in demand and popularity. Shaped and nurtured by the desires and needs of ours guests and under the inspiration of those who work here. Obsessed with surf and yoga, but it’s the people who work with them and just as importantly, the people who stay with them, that create the special atmosphere that makes Surf Maroc what it is.

Today, Surf Maroc operates a collection of four epic oceanfront locations, each of which is conceived solely to provide surf and yoga holidays and run by a professional team of people who are passionate about hospitality. From making your booking to organising your airport transfer, from your surf lessons to your accommodation, there is someone making sure you are taken care of and having a good time.

If you stay with them expect amazing waves, delicious food, great weather (all year round), beautiful accommodation, good people, and good vibes. Our doors are open for everyone, whether you are a beginner or pro, singleton or family, guy or girl, young or old.

Taghazout is internationally renowned amongst travellers, surfers, and yogis for its laid back pace and world-class waves, Taghazout is a unique gem on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Located 40 min from Agadir international airport, it’s a short hop (only 2 to 3 hours) from most central European cities. It’s the closest place for any European surfer to get year round warm water, perfect waves, and a unique cultural experience.

Amouage is where surf and yoga meet a boutique hotel.

Located on the oceanfront, the hotel is designed to be a haven for those who wish to have a curated holiday experience of surf, yoga, and good times. It provides lively public areas, spa, rooftop yoga garden, infinity pool, and bar.

Amouage has been featured in The Telegraph, Stab Magazine, The Guardian, The Financial Times, and A Hotel Life, amongst many more publications.

El Fenn – Marrakech

With 28 individually styled rooms and suites, tree-filled courtyards, a 7000ft2 roof terrace and a family of resident tortoises, El Fenn is the perfect retreat from which to enjoy Africa’s most exotic city.

Combining grandeur and historic architecture with hideaway nooks, terraces and gardens, the hotel is just five minutes walk from the world-famous Djemaa el Fna square and bustling maze of streets that make up the souk.

In 2002 Vanessa Branson and Howell James were looking for a holiday home and walked into the almost ruined courtyard of one of Marrakech’s formerly great private homes. Nearing dusk and with the sound of the muezzin’s call to prayer echoing in the air, they instantly fell in love with the atmospheric house. They soon realised that their holiday home was going to become so much more.

At the time, only a handful of Marrakech’s riads had been converted to small hotels and Vanessa and Howell knew they wanted to create a home from home retreat that combined great food and service with the spirit of the building’s past and a contemporary decorative twist. During a two-year renovation, local craftsman used traditional techniques to breathe new life into the building. Polished lime plastering was used in a rainbow of colours to create walls, baths and bed frames, original tiling was renovated and carved cedar ceilings restored. Retro furniture sourced from local flea markets was combined with one-off bespoke pieces to create a unique interior.

After a two-year renovation, El Fenn opened with six bedrooms in March 2004. Since then twenty-two more rooms and suites, three swimming pools, a restaurant, bar, spa and library have been added thanks to the purchase of neighbouring riads and the expertise of renowned Moroccan architect Amine Kabbaj.

To prepare for El Fenn’s tenth anniversary, general manager Willem Smit started a two-year refurbishment programme in 2012, redesigning and redecorating rooms and public spaces. The hard work paid off and in December 2014 El Fenn was voted number one out of 950 hotels to win the prestigious Mr & Mrs Smith award for Best Dressed Hotel.

Despite all this evolution though, the spirit of El Fenn remains: it’s a place to kick back and enjoy the tranquility of an abundance of hidden spaces before stepping outside to soak up the atmosphere of a city that’s seduced everyone from Yves Saint Laurent to Winston Churchill.
